Regional ARFF Training Center
The purpose of the study was to investigate the possible construction and operation of a regional aircraft rescue and fire fighting training center. The potential training center would be located near the existing Regional Public Safety Training Center (RPSTC), in Reno, Nevada. The Airport Authority of Washoe County (AAWC) has established a working non-committal relationship with the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Under the guidelines of this relationship the airport would be the legal owner of the center while the university would contract to serve as the daily operations manager. Further, under the terms of the agreement AAWC would receive its aircraft related training free of charge, while the university will actively market the centers assets with the intention of providing training for a fee.
AAWC has contracted with Morrison and Maierle of Helena Montana to lead the study, the Interact Group servers as a sub-contractor. The Interact Group task in this project is to develop a Business Plan. The principal goals of the Business Plan are listed below.
- Develop a needs assessment of potential users
- Develop a forecast of uses with potential revenue projects
- Develop class delivery cost projections
- Develop an annual Operations Cost forecast
- Review the competitive environment
