Increasing demands for safety and a superior trained workforce are issues that confront and challenge all emergency response agencies across the nation. Dedicated training facilities provide numerous benefits that help streamline training efforts and allow for more consistent, repeatable training exercises. Creating a proper training center demonstrates leadership and commitment to citizens, employees, and other agencies. A dedicated training center for Las Vegas will provide streamlined effectiveness for fire, emergency medical service ( EMS ), and law enforcement personnel. A dedicated facility will provide a better trained, more coordinated field service workforce to serve the citizens of and visitors to the Las Vegas area.
The purpose of this report is to evaluate the most appropriate and efficient course of action related to the creation of a Las Vegas Regional Public Safety Complex. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue commissioned the Interact Business Group to conduct research on several key issues related to the training of Las Vegas’ fire service personnel. IBG’s report evaluates options and recommends the best and most practical course of action for providing required training activities for Las Vegas Fire & Rescue and the Las Vegas Department of Detention and Enforcement personnel.
